From Belmopan...

The satellite images are showing a relatively clear weather over our part of the world, but visibly there is a lot of cloud. The early morning visible cloud is from the NE. But the surface wind is a fairly strong SW Tiger wind at present. There is also the Caribbean easterly winds. There are a few rain showers coming in over central Belize from the NE and that is causing some thunder, where these two lower air movements are clashing. The bigger picture is that, that INVEST 99L is not going away, and is still posing a threat to Belize. It is behaving very much like Earl did, but they do indicate they thing it will go up towards the Bahamas, not Belize.

Looks like to day is going to be rather changeable, started sunny, now rain in central Belize, but will probably clear this morning with a fair amount of sunshine later, but still the chance of rain showers this afternoon.

White arrows - Normal cloud, Light Blue - Surface wind, Yellow - other cloud movement, Orange - high level air, Dark Blue - Rain

Temperatures in Belmopan:
Today is probably going to be similar, to yesterday : Tue, max. 32°C 89°F Last night min. 26°C 80°F ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler )

A steadily organizing Invest 99L was bringing heavy rains and strong wind gusts to the northern Lesser Antilles on Wednesday morning, and is an increasing threat to develop into a tropical storm. Even if 99L never develops into a tropical cyclone, it has the potential to dump a large amount of rain on a place that doesn't need it "

Meanwhile TROPICAL STORM GASTON is intensifying and going up into the northern Atlantic.
