According to the Belize Population 2000 Census, the distribution of the population of Belizeans is as follows: Mestizo/Spanish – 48.7%; Creole – 24.9%; Maya – 10.6%; Garifuna – 6.1%; Black African – 0.3%; Mennonite – 3.6%; East Indian – 3.0%; Other – 1.1%; Caucasians/White – 0.8%; Chinese – 0.7%; DK/NS – 0.4%
