Welcome to Changes In Latitudes!
I sincerely hope you enjoy your stay at my
Bed & Breakfast and in San Pedro Belize. As I welcome you I try to cover
all the necessary information to make your stay enjoyable -- but in case I
slipped up here is a list of pertinent details!
Room Information:
Your rooms are keyed from both sides for security.
Windows can be pulled down and by rotating the knob can be fully locked
down. I have never had a problem with theft but do not leave things outside
the room or on the clothesline after dark as the thieves will be tempted.
Fresh drinking water is provided daily. The two light switches as you enter
the room control the fan and the light above the bed. Please help to
conserve energy by turning of lights, fans, and air conditioners when you
are out of the room. The hot water in the shower is located on the right
rather than the left! Rotate shower head knob fully to the right after
showering.
Common Area Information:
The second key on your ring is for the common
area. Feel free to use the common room at any time but please remember to
lock up and close the windows if used after dark. The refrigerator and
stove are also available for your convenience. Try to keep your items in
one spot so we can determine whose is whose! Also please do not leave any
dirty dishes, food, crumbs, etc., out as this is the tropics and it will
attract bugs! The top elements on the stove must be lit with a match or
lighter. The water in the refrigerator dispenser, as in your water jugs in
the rooms, is filtered, purified rain water and is safe to drink as is the
ice in the dispenser.
Beach towels are located in the bottom of the bookshelf. Feel free to use
the common area sinks for rinsing out small laundry items which can then be
hung on the clotheslines by the shed. Laundry Service is available for
$4.00 US per load (weather and time permitting). Laundry can also be picked
up by a local service at $5.00 US per load. The bookshelf's upper tier has
informational books about Belize, the birds of Belize, and the Belize
barrier reef / aquatic life. Tour information is also located on the same
shelf. Any of the novels are yours to read and to take with you if you have
not finished by the time you go.
Breakfast:
Served between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Please advise me of any dietary
restrictions.
Communication:
There is a portable phone available for the use of our
guests. Local calls: .50 US. Calls to the mainland: $1.00 US. Operator
assisted international calls charged to your calling card: $1.00 US. To
reach the long distance operator dial 115 and ask for ATT, MCI, or Canada
Direct. If you do not have a calling card calls can be made with operator
assistance and they will call back with time and charges which can be
billed through Changes In Latitudes. Fax Charges: 2.50 US per page to send,
free to receive. e-mail: $2.00 US to send or receive.
