Tacio Badillo at the Mistral World Championships, 1989
These are photos of Tacio Badillo attending the "Mistral World Championships" in Corpus Christie, Texas, October 1989. The whole town of San Pedro pulled together to raise money to get us to the event. Slyvana Woods of Belize City worked very hard in organizing the fund raising efforts. Tacio trained very hard for this opportunity and finished a respectable 15th in the world out of 150 in his weight class. The event consisted of a week of intense racing and included Triangle Racing, Long Distance Racing, Freestyle and Slalom Racing! We were all very proud of Tacio's performance!
