The Nassau grouper, like most groupers, is an ambush predator that eats fairly large fishes and invertebrates, including large crabs and lobsters.
While they were historically very common, Nassau groupers are now considered to be endangered by scientists.

This short-film is a call to action addressed to decision-makers that promotes the closed season for Nassau grouper from December to March. It shows the critical status of this species throughout the wider Caribbean, and the success stories documented by scientists studying its recovery within properly enforced, protected areas.
