We use many Belizean ingredients and regional cooking methods in our preparation. Our restaurant opened in February 2009. Thus far we've received very complimentary reviews from our guests. We are always eager for more feedback. We will continue to update our website with new reviews that come in. Guest are also welcome to post their reviews on Trip Advisor. Our restaurant is named after a beautiful flower native to Belize that is a favorite of the McDermott family, the group behind Red Ginger and The Phoenix Resort where our restaurant is located. We are open daily for lunch and dinner from 11:30am to 2:30pm and 6:00pm to 9:30pm. We are closed on Tuesdays. A romantic setting and amazing food Posted By: lasfloras Date: May 17, 2009 Review: As I sat and chatted with another resident of the Phoenix, I realized a couple was taking pictures and....voila, they were getting engaged! What a romantic dinner setting! Another couple was on their honeymoon! The Chef, Andres, is phenomenal and takes great pride and care in his food! He came and checked on all of us many times and even recommended fresh specials of the day! Wow!!! His stuff was awesome!!!!! Service is great too and the menu options are fantastic! The food was amazing and the restaurant was a nice change from all of the open air on the water casual places in San Pedro. There is a nice patio if you want to be outside. The restaurant fulfilled the musing had earlier this week, which was that gourmet food should be able to be made out of the available local ingredients. Indeed the Red Ginger did delight in the gourmet food category. Fellow dining companions and I munched happily on delightfully innovative twists on the familiar ingredients. The shrimp in lime and habanero sauce appetizer was superb, as was the fish soup. For main entrees, the snapper with curry sauce and coconut rice reminded of a subtle indian dish, and the slow cooked grouper took the local grouper to new highs. The desserts were equally good, and the end summary has garnered repeat customers in this single experience.
