The 2006-2007 fiscal year for the San Pedro Lions Club is drawing to a close. For the 2007-2008 year a ready to work member has accepted to take the reigns of the San Pedro Lions Club. President for this upcoming year is Lion Alex Nuñez. Lion Nuñez joined the Lionistic family approximately three years ago and although he has not served in the Board of Directors he is confident that his year as president will be successful. Throughout these years, Lion Nuñez has lived up to the Lion motto “We Serve” and has displayed much fervor, working tirelessly amongst fellow members.

In an interview with The Sun, Lion Nuñez stated that he became affiliated with the Lions Club because they display something that fits his own profile – the need to help the needy in our community. “It is a great feeling when you help those in need and the San Pedro Lions Club does that tirelessly. Throughout the year they are willing to help and I wanted to become a part of that.”

Lion Alex Nuñez will officially assume his new position after the official inauguration ceremonies in early July. Upon taking office, Lion Nuñez says that his top priorities will include infusing the club with a new blood. “There are members in our club that have worked for years on end, without asking for anything in return. The ‘we serve’ spirit needs a new boost and that is what I want to accomplish.”

The San Pedro Sun joins the community and the members of the San Pedro Lions Club in congratulating Lion Alex Nuñez in his newly chosen endeavor and wishes him all the best for a successful year.
