Miss Nelda Graniel will be representing the San Pedro Lions Club in the Miss Lions District 59 Pageant to be held on April, Saturday 25th, at the Pickwick Club in Belize City. The pageant will be one of the many events that will be held during the Lions District 59 21st Convention.

Miss Graniel is 18 years old and is the daughter of Lion Rosendo Graniel and Auxillary Madé Graniel. She was born in San Pedro and attended primary and high school on the island. She was appointed by the San Pedro Lions Club to be their representative. This pageant will be her first.

The pageant will commence at 7:30 p.m. and each contestant will be required to deliver an introduction speech in their casual wear. A group dance performance will follow, after which each contestant will perform their very own cultural presentation. The highest number of points have been assigned to the cultural presentation section of the pageant. The final round of competition will be the evening gown, and answer and question section.

All the contestants will be awarded the same prize, except for the winner who will receive an extra prize. A Miss Photogenic and Miss Amity will also be selected. The winner of the pageant will represent Belize along with a delegation from Lions District 59 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, for the Istmania Convention.
