 
The San Pedro Police Cadet Corp is part of a country wide police community project. It is an alternative for young people. Members of the Cadet Corp are taught proper police procedures, law and discipline. Physical training is a weekly routine as well as lectures from members of the community. On Fridays and Tuesdays from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. the Corp carries out their bi-weekly town clean up. On Saturday from 2:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. the members of the Corp participate in exercise drills and listen to lectures. According to Assistant Superintendent of Police, Michael Gutierrez, the Corp is an extremely important part of the community because it offers the young people a medium to share and be informed. "The youths of today will be the adults of tomorrow. The incentives and discipline we are trying to instill in the children will go a long way and will ensure that San Pedro continues to be a safe and secure destination for visitors; whether they are from within Belize or from somewhere else." The San Pedro Police would like to ask talent members of the community who have a special talent or skill to share it with the children of the community. Artists, painters, woodcarvers are welcome. Interested contributors should contact the San Pedro Police Station for more information. The Police Department would like to thank all the people who have contributed and continue to contribute to the Cadet Corp. Thanks to all the parents who have made donations which made the purchasing of Cadet T-shirts possible. Thanks to the businesses and members of the community who have given donations and their time. The Corp is working on obtaining formal uniforms and would like to thank Manuel Heredia Jr., J.P., UDP Belize Rural South Standard bearer for his contribution of purchasing clothing for the uniform shirts and for paying for the sewing of the shirts.
