Los Gatos Bravos, coming in for Honduras Night, August 21, will be sponsored by Mike Hotchandani making him a Gold Sponsor.
Dolphin International Ltd., developers of Royal Belize Village to be located at Punta Azul, have agreed to sponsor Miss Gaylene Dawson, the Belizean contestant at the Reina De La Costa Maya International Pageant.
El Salvador Night, August 19, has had a change in performers. Sad to say that The Do Mayor Band has been replaced by René Alonzo and La Banda Lazzer. Alonzo and his band were one of the favorite performers of last year's festival. The crowd enjoyed their salsa and cumbia music.
Belize Night, August 23, starts springing into life, with the Xaibe Cultural Dance Group. This 12 member cultural dance group will be presenting the exciting and artistic cultural dances that make Belize one of the most unique countries in the Mundo Maya.
The New Combination, the San Pedro High School Band, will be showing off their local talent this year on Belize Night with their variety of music. They will also be performing new and original songs they have been practicing night after night these past few weeks. The Sea and Air Festival Committee is also continuing negotiations to bring an international star to perform on Belize/International Night.
Lowell Staine, of the Foreign Press Corps in Hollywood, California and author of the popular Inside Hollywood column is negotiating with a Hollywood celebrity to join him on a trip to Belize and serve as Grand Marshal of the festival and grand parade.
