One Way Streets to be Fine Tuned.... Angel Coral Street to be Two Way?

The Commissioner of Transport and the Ambergris Caye Traffic Control Committee met in October and discussed the one way streets, speed limits and parking situation in San Pedro. A number of proposals have resulted from their discussions. Regarding one way streets, it is proposed that Angel Coral Street (Back Street) and Almond Street (the street where Graniel's Hardware/Cabinet Shop is located) revert to two way streets. Speed limits would be ten miles a hour in residential areas and 15 miles an hour in nonresidential areas. Alternate parking on one side of certain streets would also come into force. As an example, from the first to the fifteenth of the month, parking on Barrier Reef Drive would be on the west side. From the 16th to the end of the month, parking would be on the east side. Streets affected by alternate parking would be Barrier Reef Drive, Pescador Drive, Angel Coral Street, Nurse Shark Street, Almond Street, Caribeņa Street, Pelican Street, Ambergris Street, Bucaneer Street, Black Coral Street and Tarpon Street.

Objections, opinions or suggestions to the following proposals may be forwarded to the Department of Transport in Belmopan. The Transport Advisory Council will be reviewing the proposals and suggestions and will make the final decision.
