Strange creature

Can anyone name this? It was on a night dive at Hol Chan a while ago.

The tendrils were moving far more than the current would have suggested, and when I came back a while later it was gone. I think it was animal, not vegetable.

Its a basket star
I know the one at Hol Chan...south side of the channel ,right?
It walks around at night. Folds up during the day to a tight ball, you wouldn't believe how small he can make himself.
This is a good shot of a very rare creature Peter, good show

That's right Elbert, south side near to the inland end. Where does it stay during the day?

Same area but it gets smaller than a tennis ball and attaches to a sea fan or other soft coral. a very strange creature.its eating things at night that drift by in the current. Star fish family. Its been there for years always on that side of the channel but sometimes i see it towards the end where we cross over the cut.

Heck I thought it was the tendrilius teraoctofactus maximus otherwise known as the Hol Chan Ho...known to hang around reef corners and pickpocet un-suspecting divers.
