I read they have toxic saliva .

That's a Mexican Parrot Snake (Leptophis mexicanus) which I don't believe has any venom. The Mexican Vine Snake (Oxybelis aeneus) and the Green Vine Snake (Oxybelis fulgidus) both have mild venom.
