Kira and Chantelle volunteer at Swallow Caye
Kira and Chantelle had been doing volunteer work down in Toledo and
were visiting Caye Caulker for a few days before heading back home.
They came into Chocolate's Gift Shop and asked to volunteer at Swallow
Caye Wildlife Sanctuary. They went out on the ranger boat the next
morning with Donovan Burgess, our head ranger. The first day was
mainly cleaning up the ranger station. They brought back 90 glass soda
bottles! The following day they did some painting. They did have some
time to watch the manatees, naming their favorite one Meredith.
Chantelle stayed an extra day and helped me do a morning clean up at
the Children's Park next to our place - raking and weeding. We had a
few other volunteers that helped us out a bit too. Still lots of work
to do but the front behind the fence looks a lot better.
Thanks so much Kira and Chantelle!! We all had a great time with you!!
Their names are Kira Johnson from the States and Chantelle Doyle from
Australia.
