The Reef Village Beach Access Feud Outta Control

The Owner of the lots north of Coco Locos is installing a 6 wire barbwire fence around the property apparently to keep equipment off of the land.
It is incredibly dangerous to bicycles and pedestrians that are used to going through there. It could kill someoone on a motorbike.

Well it is private property - seems that the owner is establishing his boundaries and taking steps to prevent trespassing.

Hope this calms down and nobody gets hurt.

I know of a landowner in England who erected a barbed wire fence alongside a bridleway. After a horse was injured he was ordered to take it down. He didn't and was subsequently heavily fined.

No-one has the right to erect a fence that is likely to injure legitimate travellers. If he wants a barbed wire fence it must be well into his property with clear indication as to where the actual legal border lies.

I am not a fan of barbed wire and agree there would have to be a lot of "flags" marking the wire so people don't get hurt.

It is guaranteed that someone on a bike in the night will get hurt.
Definetly needs flagging

I agree, but do you think someone could see a flag when it's dark?

What does Belizian law say about erecting a fence and type of fence to protect ones property and the responsibility to the general public's safety? I think that is what is relevant here.
