Be Kind Belize Graduates

Last week Holy Cross Anglican School children graduated from their Be Kind Belize humane education class. They had to put on plays for graduation day and they really let their imaginations go wild. The boys did a puppet play about a gang of dogs vs a gang of cats. The dogs were upset because the cats were calling them stupid. After a big gang fight (Very West Side Story), they realised that they were all the same deep down and broke into the song 'We Are Family'. The girls gave up their puppets once they discovered the stuffed toys in the school library and despite trying to explain that moose are not a native species in Belize, they decided to proceed. Their play was about a farmer who had run out of money to feed his animals. The animals helped him find some money and then they all sang 'Old MacDonald Had a Farm'. Apparently he did have a moose. Hope you enjoy the pictures and their very happy faces. Announcements about the winners of the Kind Kids Awards will be upcoming.

All you have to do is look at the kids faces to see that this is far from being a chore. It is a privilege to work with these inspiring and wonderful children. They all have so much potential. If only there were more Be Kind Belize volunteers, we could spread this programme to so many more schools. All it requires is 2-3 hours a week during school time, for up to eight weeks at a time. It is so much fun and hugely rewarding. Thanks everyone here for all of your support. The Ambergris Caye message board has truly made this programme possible by spreading the word. Thank you Marty!
