Hi all,
Just back from our honeymoon and first trip to AC. Stayed in the hoineymoon suite at Exotic Caye / Playador. Nice room, about what I expected. A couple little touches like a mattress pad under the sheet would have made a difference. Kept waking up on the mattress itself. Used the jacuzzi in the room only twice of the 5 nights since the water was shut off on the island every night and we felt a bit guilty using all that water. But what's the point of renting a room with a jacuzzi if you don't use it?

It was a very quiet week on the island right after Eatser and all. Not a lot of folks about. Spent a lot of time at Crazy Canucks. Quite a cast of characters there. Monkey bites was good for a quick breakfast. Tuesday burgers at BCs were excellent. Best food was at Elvi's. Casa Picasso was really good. Caliente was good. Blue Water Grill was OK, the shrimp was kinda rubbery, might have been an off night. Caye Coffee was a great wake up. Most everyone we met either ex-pat or natives were very nice and willing to help and please. Made some quick friends on the trip

Went on the Lamanai Mayan ruins trip with SeaDuced and they did a great job. Went snorkeling to Hol Chan which is a must. Drove up the Caye one day. Stopped in at Catain Morgans for lunch, looked nice. Swam off the peir at Belizian Shores, the best swimming spot I saw. A set of steps into a large clear area with 6 -7 ft. depth of water. Other resorts could take a lesson from there. The other good swimming spot was in front of Ramons but not as deep. Still AC is not for your swimming beach experience. That should be a sticky. You get in the water more for snorkeling and diving etc. It's behind a barrier reef everyone!
