Tropical Update, The Weather Channel

Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunters investigating the strong tropical wave in the central Caribbean this morning found a closed circulation centered about 150 miles south of Jamaica. Thus, the wave was upgraded to a depression and may be on the threshhold of becoming a tropical storm. Heavy rains and strong, gusty winds are beginning to punch into Jamaica now. Tropical storm warnings may be required for the island this evening. In the U. S., residents along the Gulf Coast and Florida should begin paying close attention to future developments regarding T. D. 10. Current projections put it near the Yucatan Channel Friday morning as a strong tropical storm or hurricane.
