Decrease In Controlled Price Of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) (Butane-Propane Mix) Approved
Belmopan - 24 November, 2008
The Ministry of Economic Development, Commerce, Industry and Consumer Protection in conjunction with the Cabinet Standing Subcommittee of Ministers announces a price decrease on the controlled price for a hundred (100lb) pound cylinder of liquid petroleum gas (butane-propane mix) which will take effect Tuesday November 25th, 2008.

The newly established controlled prices are as follows:

District New Controlled Price
Belize City............................. $96.00
Belmopan.............................. $98.00
San Ignacio........................... $98.00
Benque.................................. $99.00
Orange Walk.......................... $97.00
Corozal.................................. $96.00
Dangriga................................ $100.00
Punta Gorda........................... $101.00
The Ministry in collaboration with the Standing Subcommittee of Ministers will continue to collaborate with other producers and stakeholders in order to procure further decreases in prices of other basic commodities. The GOB anticipates that the decrease in LPG prices coupled with recent decreases in fuel prices translates to a doubling effect in lower prices and to this end providing much price relief to consumers.
