HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - Another big score from "Temptation Island" has lifted
Fox to a Wednesday victory among young adults, although NBC continues to
lead the February sweeps after one week.
Wednesday's action, which saw every network except CBS improve upon its
year-ago numbers, wrapped the opening week of sweeps. NBC holds a 9 percent
advantage over Fox in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic and a 5 percent
edge on CBS in total viewers.
According to Nielsen, the fifth episode of "Temptation" dominated its hour
in younger demos, including a 7-share advantage over second-place "The West
Wing" on NBC in adults 18-49 (9.4 rating, 22 share to 6.5/15) and a 19-share
bulge over ABC's second-place comedies in adults 18-34 (12.7/31 to 5.0/12).
Although "Temptation" was down week-to-week, its numbers were the best yet
opposite a first-run "West Wing."
(Each adults 18-49 rating point represents 1.24 million viewers, 1 percent
of the U.S. total. A share is the same sort of percentage, except it's
measured against only the homes or viewers watching TV during the time slot
