It's official: The Inn at Robert's Grove in Seine Bight, started in 1996 (it opened in 1997) by Bob and Risa Frackman, and one of the top beach resorts in Belize, has been sold. New owners are Jean-Marc Tasse and Michael Kramer, who a couple of years ago took over the Singing Sands Inn, also on the Placencia peninsula. Purchase price and terms were not disclosed.

Bob Frackman, 84, before building Robert's Grove was formerly a real estate developer in New York. The Frackmans had been in discussion to sell the 52-unit Robert's Grove for some time.

The Frackmans also owned Robert's Caye, a tiny island off Placencia with several cabins, and under a lease also had a small resort operation at Ranguana Caye. The Robert's Grove property includes two restaurants, dive shop and a small marina.

Jean-Marc Tasse is a Canadian, and Michael Kramer, manager of Singing Sands, has a property management business on the peninsula.

Robert's Grove is widely considered one of the top beach resorts in Belize. In 2008, it won the Belize Tourist Board's Hotel of the Year award. It also has been named a Fodor's Choice hotel for several years and has won other awards.
