BELMOPAN, Belize - The brother of former Belize prime minister George Price was found murdered in his home today.

Police said that Sam Price, 85, the younger brother of the elder statesman was found badly beaten in his bathtub at the house located on the Northern Highway, just outside of Belize City.

A relative said that his nephew, who usually helps him with errands, went to the house at around 9.00 am local time and found the door ajar. The nephew, whose name was not disclosed, found blood stains and evidence of a struggle.

The police said they have no motive for the killing.

Ladyville Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident that claimed the life of Samuel Price, the younger brother of former Prime Minister George Price.

According the official police report on Saturday, April 16, at about 9:15 a.m. investigators responded to a scene at Price's residence at mile 5� on the Northern Highway. When the Police arrived on the second floor of the building, they found the lifeless and bludgeoned body of Samuel Price, an 84 -year- old retiree, slouched over in a tub located in the bathroom.

Initial investigation revealed that at about 8:00 a.m., Mr. Clement Usher visited the residence, as he usually does on Saturdays, where he found Price dead. Signs of forced entry were observed on both a wooden and a metal door on the second floor entrance of the house.

Price is survived by his older brother - George Price, as well as two sisters - former government minister Jane Usher and historian Meg Craig.
