Finally ! San Pedros children will learn about Caribbean music. The First San Pedro Music Summer Camp will take place at the San Pedro High School from July 22 till August 9., 2013 Maestro Carlos Perrote will teach participants 5-18 years old, Monday to Friday during 90 minutes classes. Trainees will learn how to play Steel Pan, Garifuna drums, drumset, Congas, Batas, Tamboras, Timbals, Cajon, Piano and Guitar. All percussion instruments will be provided. Children will be taught the most basic elements of music, handwriting, notation, Treble clef, pulse and rhythms including time.
Carlos Perrote is a University graduated music teacher with Master's Degree. He is the former music director and percussionist of the late Andy Palacio and the Garifuna Collective. Carlos Perrote is currently the music director of the Grace Primary Music School and the Holy Redeemer Marching Band in Belize City.
