If you all will recall, last year I was trying to get funding for a Women of Caye Caulker documentary.

Well, the funding effort did not succeed, but the documentary project lives on.

In the end, several long-time male residents of Caye Caulker were also included in the project, the late Chocolate Heredia being one of them, and so the project was renamed "Roots in the Sea."

Here is an excerpt from the Roots in the Sea documentary narrated by my mother, 84 year old Ilna Auxillou, about her experience with the Blue Hole.

This short clip of Chocolate Heredia made it into the 2013 Belize Film Fesvial, and is scheduled to be screened on July 23rd.
