The Department of Youth Services is now accepting nomination forms for the National Belize Youth Awards 2013 to take place on November 8, 2013. Help the department identify and award the exemplary youths in this beautiful jewel of ours Belize.

The Belize Youth Award is a prestigious national honor bestowed on outstanding young Belizeans from age 15 to 29 who demonstrate high standards of achievement and commitment within their various communities. The categories include: Youth in Sports, Media, Volunteerism, Arts and Culture, Person Living with Disability, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Science and Technology, Environmental Awareness, Tourism and Academic Excellence, Youth Service providers and social clubs.

The nominees come from across the country.The targeted age cohort is representative of the group for which programs are planned and implemented by the Department of Youth Services.

The Youth Awards Committee will examine and discuss all nominations and supporting documents in order to finalize a shortlist of candidates. Following which, a list of candidates will be recommended to be awarded. Honorees are publicly presented their awards at a ceremony organized by the Department of Youth Services during the week of November 4-8, which is celebrated as Youth Week.

The Belize Youth Awards is aimed at recognizing and encouraging excellence.

ELIGIBILITY:
 To be considered eligible, a nominee must:

  1. Be a Belizean
  2. Be age 15-29 years old (born between January 1, 1984 and December 31, 1998)

  1. Nominators are required to complete the attached Nomination Form.
  2. Nominations should include copies of all relevant information including proof of achievements, valid I.D's and recommendations
