The Corozal Police Department has noted to the Corozal Daily the increase on a number of burglaries and robberies of late.

We would like to inform the neighborhood watch groups to kindly become active and report any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.

Burglary:

A 39 year old Public Health Inspector, HARRIS PATTEN presently residing on College Road, Corozal Town, reported to Corozal Police that between the hours of 8:00 a.m. on Saturday March 8th, 2014 and 8:00 a.m. and Sunday March 9th, 2014 his house situated at the above mentioned address was burglarized. Stolen there from were: (1) Magnavox T.V Flat Screen 32 inch black in color with yellow marking on the side valued at $1,800.00 Bcy, (1) black in color Sony DVD player valued $300.00 Bcy, (1) Gold Ring valued $400.00 Bcy, (1) gold UB Graduation ring with a purple stone valued $450.00 Bcy, (1) White Gold rope design chain valued $600.00 Bcy, (1) Gold Necklace valued $1,800.00 Bcy and $200.00 Bcy cash in denomination of four $50.00 Bcy notes; all to a total value of$4,950.00 Bcy. None of the items have been recovered. Police is asking the public's assistance in solving this latest crime here in Corozal.

ROBBERY:

AYONIE BRICENO, a Teacher of Santa Rita, Corozal Town reported that about 7:25 p.m. on Tuesday March 11th, 2014 whilst standing in-front of Saint Francis Xavier Church on 1st Street South having a conversation along with three (3) church sisters, she was approached by two creole male persons whereby she recognized one as HECTOR KELLY who she had taught for several years and had a knife in his right hand. He took away her gold chain with gold medal which is a circle and two baby like figures in it valued at $250.00 Bcy off her neck. Police are looking for HECTOR KELLY for the crime of robbery.
