I've seen the road from Xcalak going North, it's the quality of the crushed limestone we have behind Mata Grande now but it goes North to Mahahual. I took a boat up the back of the island to the cut the Mayans where suppose to have dug. I passed this traditional route to Xcalac continuing into Mexico and discovered a huge channel had been cut separating Xcalac from Ambergris. Two bridges would now have to be built, one being very large and tall. It seems like an impractical project. Possibly the letter of intent above was before this channel was created, if the intention was real and not only a gesture.
