A peaceful demonstration demanding better health care services for San Pedro Town took place on Thursday, March 16th at the town's Central Park. Concerned island residents were moved to action in response to the death of Jordanie Olivera, who was unable to receive proper medical attention at the island's polyclinic.

The small group of islanders took to the main streets of San Pedro Town shortly after 9AM, making their way to the Central Park. There, they rallied for several minutes, spreading the message to everyone that passed by about the need for a proper medical facility on the island: "No more lies, no more deaths, we need a hospital!" With banners demanding a medical facility and a commitment from the respective authorities, the protesters made sure everyone understood their cause.

Protesters plan to continue spreading awareness for the need of a better medical facility on the island. They want to clarify that they are not politically motivated, but rather want to look out for the well-being of the island and its visitors. They will not stop until their demands are met. "This can happen to any one of us. We cannot allow another person to die, we need to unite and fight for our rights."
