Belizeans who travel very regularly to Mexico can now get a Regional Visitor Card to cut through the immigration red tape.

The card - known as the TVR - is free and can be obtained at the Chactemal Immigration office at Belize's northern border. It allows cardholders to travel up to 7 consecutive days to the Mexican states of Campeche, Quintana Roo, Chiapas, Tabasco and Yucatán. It is not valid for any other state in Mexico. To get the Card, Belizean nationals must present a valid passport and a photocopy of the ID page. Children and minors must present the proper authorization from both parents or a legal guardian certified by a JP. The card is valid for 5 years.
