The Public Utilities Commission today announced that it has completed the final draft for the Belize Electricity Limited's 2019 Annual Review Proceeding. The Electricity company wants your electricity rates to remain as they currently are, and the PUC has agreed with them.

In a press release from the PUC, the regulator notes that on December 10th, BEL made a submission to them that there should be no amendments to the currently-approved mean electricity rate of 41.51 cents per kilowatt-hour.

Well, the PUC agrees, and they say that their final draft for this review period is consistent with BEL's position. No adjustments to the rates have been made for the period of January 1st, 2020, to June 30th, 2020.

If you feel differently, you can submit written comments on the final draft to the PUC at its office on Gabourel Lane in Belize City, or email them to the PUC at [email protected]. The deadline for written comments is January 3rd, 2020.
