Yes. Face coverings are required across Belize’s public spaces—including while you travel in these open-air mediums—and   the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) has issued a reminder for everyone to wear a mask while traveling via golf cart in Belize. While Belize’s close proximity to North America makes it a poised destination to visit as travel reopens, the country continues to enforce measures against the spread of COVID-19. While that includes the mandatory use of face masks in Belize, it has also come to the attention of the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) that on several occasions, guests have not been adhering to the country’s mask mandate when using golf carts, resulting in charges being levied against them.

Please note that the laws of Belize mandate that persons are required to wear a face mask when traveling in a golf cart, even if they are with members of their family.  Children under the age of six (6) years old are exempted from this regulation.
