COVID-19 Vaccines are now available to all Belizeans 18-years-old and over with no restrictions. New campaign launched in Belize. “Get Vaccinated”

Belize is seeing a rise in COVID and only 29k people are fully vaccinated so starting Sunday:

1. Curfew on weekends will be 11pm rather than midnight.

2. Church service restricted to one hour at only 50% capacity

3. Restaurants only 75% capacity for outdoor and only 50% indoor but ONLY with free flow of air

No parties!

4. The term frontline is being expanded to include frontline on our economic front. Frontline personnel should get vaccinated in July. Starting August 1, if not, you have to show negative Covid test every 2 weeks. Medical, police, teachers, tour guides, hotel staff, restaurant workers and Casino employees, pastors and priests are to be considered frontline workers. JPs will be asked to help monitor.

Masking in public is the law - a police women in Hopkins just asked a lady to put on her mask while walking in front of me. Vaccines are available!!!

New COVID-19 measures will come into effect on Sunday, July fourth. The new measures are being implemented in light of the increase in COVID-cases. Minister of Home Affairs Kareem Musa outlines the new regulations:

- Curfew will continue in place, from Sunday through to Wednesday night it will remain at 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. From Thursday to Saturday night, the curfew will change to 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

- Church Services are to cut back to one hour at 50% capacity

- Restaurants will now utilize Justices of the Peace to oversee activities

- BPO offices will be limited to fifty percent capacity

- Frontline workers, including teachers and tour operators, are being encouraged to get vaccinated for the entire month of July. After July, those who have not gotten vaccinated will be required to present a negative Covid-19 text every two weeks.

These regulations come into effect on Sunday, July 4th.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness has started its COVID19 vaccine campaign countrywide. We are officially at Phase 5 calling out all persons 18 years and older to go get vaccinated. Persons from Phases 1, 2, 3, and 4 are still encouraged to get vaccinated.
