As the old saw goes, "How you gonna keep'em down on the farm after they've seen gay Paree?"

Fact is, I think most residents who have them and can afford them like their pickups and big cars. They like paved streets. Just like Sanpedranos quickly got used to fiberglass boats with twin Yamahas rather than sailing dorries and old wooden boats.

I could be wrong, but I bet if you put it to a vote of San Pedro residents, the majority would go for unlimited vehicles and as much paving as possible. Only if at some point these things start clearly reducing the flow of tourist dollars, which I suspect won't happen anytime soon, will we see a reduction in the number of cars.
