We've just returned to Vermont after eight warm, beautiful days on AC! We stayed at Paradise Villas and were very pleased with our accommodations. Nellie and her staff are very personable and professional. The food was great (LOTS of snapper and conch! Yum!) and we ate at several places along the beach. The consensus was that Mango's was our favorite, though Lily's and Ramon's were excellent. We went to see the manatees (they were there!) with Seaduced and were treated to a terrific shore lunch (grilled snapper) on Goff's Caye. We took several snorkeling trips and found Mexico Rocks to be the most interesting. The fish were mostly smaller ones, but we had the place to ourselves so we were able to explore quite a bit. The one negative on our trip was Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley. What a zoo! I couldn't believe the number of boats! There were so many people in the water that we were running into each other. I heard that someone drowned out there two weeks ago, which isn't much of a surprise when you consider the chaos in the water. Hol Chan must have been a great resource at one time, but it's a place to be avoided if you enjoy peaceful snorkeling. Overall, though, AC is great place for a vacation with beautiful weather, friendly people and very tasty food. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
