Just walked out my door and looked down the beach to see Patojos dive shop and dock has collapsed. No one is reported as being hurt.

Thank goodness it's low season so Pat can find alternate dock space while the dock and shop are repaired.

Boy, you're right up on it Simon! Talk about up-to-date information! Too bad for the dive shop. Was there a storm?

No storm, I've been told that there were problems with the dock and that they had been in the process of shoring it up and it collapsed. They had been removing items from the shop for a few days.

No worries for people booked with Pat, it'll be business as usual.

Now if a quality architect had drawn the plans. And a bevy of city inspectors with their hands out had GREEN STICKERED the place, this never would have happened. The would have accounted for deflection and deterioration caused by the constant pounding of the sea. In no time at all, they could have this looking like Myrtle Beach? eek

C'mon brewkettle, it would be better to send your support to Patojos instead of making light of the situation. It wouldn't be a laughing matter if was you...

Yikes, that is too bad. Good thing they were preparing for the worst and no one was hurt. Simon, I know I have been by that pier before but remind me where they are located. Thanks, mobunny

It's the first pier North of the High School in front of The Tides hotel.
