I am AC bound!!! It's been quite a trip and I haven't even left yet... a week ago I didn't even know about this board and taking a vacation to such an exotic locale was just a faint thought, a 'one of these days I'll get around to it' kind of dream. Now here I am having booked my flight and confirmed my hotel... I leave exactly 5 months from today and will be there for 12 great (hopefully hurricane free) nights. Haha

Thanks to everyone who contributes to this great forum and makes the decision to visit so easy and painless. I had originally thought of staying at Mata Rocks but in the end I'm afraid to say that as nice as that resort and it's owners were, for purely financial reasons I had to go with Banana Beach. They had such a great rate that I couldn't turn it down and it's allowed me to stay much longer than I thought I'd be able to (thanks very much again, Tim, for taking the time to answer all my niggly questions! :-)

Now that the decision has been made and the flight/hotel have been booked, the journey is just beginning. I'm still going to have a ton of questions about what to bring, what not to bring, where to eat, what to see and am looking forward to checking in to find out what's going on in AC right up to the minute I get on the plane.

Thanks again for what you do here... it really makes things easier for us newbies.

Yeah, that search thing is great but I'm sure I can still somehow manage to think up about a dozen truly bizarre questions that I'll honestly believe no one's managed to come up with yet. Haha

go for it - you'll either get an answer, maybe not THE answer, but AN answer...OR....maybe not....OR you'll be ridiculed and patronized by somebody :rolleyes:
