First
let me say that I am alive... Reports of my death have been greatly exagerated....to
paraphrase Mark Twain.

Well, that was a terrific storm that we had. The upper windows of the house crashed in
and the bottom was flooded. No more golf cart or washing machine. But I
got
to save the things that were most important to me, and it could have been
much worse.

We don't have power or phones yet and I guess it's still going to be quite
a while before we get them. Quite a few houses were completely
destroyed
and some people are homeless. Many dive boats were damaged. I suppose there'll
be
gas soon but there isn't much now. The government is controlling the
gas
in case of an "emergency".

it was a really
terrifying hurricane. First the wind was blowing onto the side
of the house which has the least windows. Which I thought was
the best thing for it to do. But then the eye went over us and
it turned full onto the big windows. I saw the windows bulging
in and just got out of there before they crashed in.

The little crab village is still there. The big hole happened
nearer the Caral Bay villas. It was eating out the foundation.
Now it's filled in.

There was about a fot of water flooded into the first level.
It took three men all day to get the mud out of them. I was afraid
the tiles would pop up. Even upstairs was awash with water since
sheets of water just came directly in. I had the dog in bed with
me since there was no place for it to lie down which didn' have
three inches of water. Did I tell you my golf cart is dead......It
was under water up over the seat. Now they are telling us we
may not have power for another ten days where we are.

Well, bye for now, X X X X Kay

Thank you Kay for the post! Even before the other Kay was reported missing, we in San Francisco were worried about you when we heard KEITH was right at your door step.
So happy you're O.K. God bless.
