Mobunny and I will be in SP this August. While there friends of ours are doing a boat charter from SP to Placencia. Mo and I will be onboard for a couple of nights. Any suggestions on a 2 day loop back to SP or CC?

It depends on when in August you're going. The majority of boats will only be heading South at that time of year to be close to Rio Dulce as it's the only decent hurricane hole within a 48 hour sail.

You might be able to hitch a ride on a boat to Rio Dulce (you'll love Livingston) and then do the cab to Puerto Barrios followed by water taxi to PG and then fly back to SP or CC.

Thanks SimonB. Actually my friends have a boat reserved through TMM and arrive Aug. 7. Mobunny and I will be at Mata Rock from Aug 4-18. Mostly we'll be diving but are going to spend two nights on the boat. Our friends will drop us back off in SP or CC where we can take the water taxi back to SP, before they head to Placencia. I was wondering what a good two day trip on a catamarn would be. I'm not sure just how far we can go and come back to CC or SP in two days.

On a 2 day I usually go as far as St. George's Caye and back with a stop in Caye Caulker. On the front side of St. George's there's a couple mangrove islands to the north, take the dinghy through the one with the deepest channel (about 2-3'), head north and you'll find a huge expanse of sand bottom about 2' feet deep. You can body surf and walk for miles there.
