We're two couples who will be on AC as of this Sunday. The plan is to snorkle, but we're also thinking about taking a resort course. Is there a particular dive instructor/company you would recommend who is especially patient with newbies? Also, is the instruction in a pool or in the ocean? And, what is the minimum number of students taken in a resort course? Thanks for the help.

Where are you staying? They may already have an in-house instructor.

We're staying at Captain Morgan's Retreat.We would love it if we could find an instructor that would take only the 4 of us and not a large group.

AMIGOS DEL MAR-BY FAR THE BEST. They will take just the four of you. In fact, I did it one on one! They will take individuals or private groups. I did my resort course with them and they are EXCELLENT! They are patient, professional, and really look after you. They will pick you up at any hotel you are at. IMO you cant beat Eddie and Alberto at AMD - i learned with them and they taught my very nervous friend and got her certified in December - you really cant go wrong there -
