I've been exchanging emails with Conchita for several days. She is meeting with the principal on Monday, and is supposed to get me a list of needs by Tuesday. I've been in contact with executives of Barnes & Noble, who have offered to help in any way they can. I'll be in contact with the CEO on Tuesday, and I hope to have a list of the books needed when I speak to him. If you know a representative of a school or library on either island, please have them contact me with their list of needs ASAP. Edd Haskins [email protected]

Just spoke to Carmelita about the conditions at the Caye Caulker School. They need pens, paper, rulers, visual aids, posters, dictionaries, books. The Library was destroyed. The principal there, Enelda Rosado, does not have email. But anything folks can gather together for shipping down post here or email me at [email protected]The same goods are needed for San Pedro Schools. Thank You. Does ANYBODY have a contact in Caye Caulker that can get me a list of the textbooks they use, along with the approximate number of students in the school? Also, do we know what day they plan to re-open the school? Edd [email protected]

there are 270 in the san pedro high school, and 240 in the caye caulker grade school. still awaiting word on number in san pedro grade school, i remember it to be around 700.
they are trying to open schools in another week after cleaning during this upcoming week.
also needed are Propane lanterns, Long nosed lighters (its so wet matches are problematic), towels, sheets, (everyones towels and sheets got used up trying to keep the wateer from coming in through the walls during the storm)
mattresses, beds,
BUTANE COOKING STOVES
these needs are really specific to caye caulker, but i'm sure these same items are needed in spo.
keep in touch,
