Here's a nice video from Ron Sniffin of the San Pedro Sun. He just may send along a few of the waves along the beaches here in a few minutes....

Here's Ron:
The crew from the San Pedro Sun produced a news story for Channel 7 in
Belize City. Kainie Manuel and Ron Sniffin provided this report that aired
Friday night.

From Ron of the San Pedro Sun:

Check out these shots.
This is Reynolds who has worked at Banana Beach forever. These were taken at
around 6:30 in front of Banana Beach.
The waves are really crashing. It looks like the pier at Royal Palm is going
- included two photos. It is the pier in the back, you can kind of see it
listing to the side.

We plan to be in Ambergris Caye for vacation in August, we have never been and are very much looking forward to being there. So, I have to admit my motives are probably a little selfish. BUT I seriously hope that all goes well and there is no damage or injury to all who are left. We are praying with everyone there that Emily changes direction. Hope to see you in August!!!

I just got here, too, 11 days ago. Yes, will not forget it forsure! I hope the island is okay, I feel like it is going to be fine, still power, no rain, winds are not out of control. I am calm now tonight, more than last night. This will definately be memories. The start of my journey...

Everywhere I go and everything new becomes a part of me in someway.

San Ignacio is holding its own. Rivers are rising - about 5 feet so far, and indeed "boiling". Big logs and bushes floating (rushing) along. Some rain this evening and weird looking swirled clouds. I spoke to several people on the cayes and they were enjoying the day on the beach with no guests - like a free day off! Heard people were surfing! Ready to move to the hurricane places for the night. Should be rain tomorrow. But all is well now. The radios are having San Pedro updates about every hour and you can hear the wind and waves in the background.

I live in San Pedro but right now I am on vacation in the US. Someone is staying at my house and hopefully my dog is OK. I know the window boards are on, but I am wondering just how much rain and wind there is......like....how much rain might be getting in the house and soaking my computer which I am not there to put away...?
