This promises to be OK – I’ll be the spoil sport and answer the original question.
The town board operates the “Pull Ferry” (Not called the hand ferry – that’s a different guy and spelled differently) from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. This costs BZ $10 round trip.
From 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM it is a private enterprise and costs BZ $10 each way – even if you have a town board monthly pass.
I wouldn’t try to stone the guy from across the river as he may already be stoned. It is shallow enough and warm enough to wade across. You could then steal the ferry and operate it yourself. If you are good you might pickup a little extra cash.
Just don’t be stupid and until the ‘pull’ line from the end of the dock. This has happened twice recently and the ferry – complete with tourists and locals has floated away... It’s amazing what people will stand my and watch and do nothing.
