Belize Hosts Outside Magazine
--Belize City, Wednesday, August 3rd, 2005 A team of photographers, art director, stylist, male and female models are currently in Belize for a photo shoot for Outside Magazine, which boasts an overall readership of 645,933. While here, they will be traversing and shooting in western region of the country.
Outside Magazine will be featuring Belize heavily in their Bi-Annual Traveler issue, which hits the stand in September of 2005. In addition to including several articles on the destination, they have chosen to feature Belize on the cover of their magazine.
Outside Magazine is edited for the enthusiast of various outdoor activities including running, skiing, camping, rock climbing, rafting, hang-gliding and more. Outside is a monthly national magazine dedicated to covering the people, sports and activities, politics, arts, literature, and hardware of the outdoors. In particular, they look for articles on outdoor events, regions and activities; informal seasonal pieces; sports and adventure travel pieces and profiles of engaging outdoor character, as well as leisure travel. Award-winning writing and photography, Outside is the only magazine to win the National Magazine Award for General Excellence three years in a row.
In December of 2004, Mrs. Leslie Weeden, Editor of Outside Magazine, was in Belize for a one-week familiarization visit. While here, Mrs. Weeden had the opportunity to visit San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Caye Caulker and Placencia.
“This is an excellent opportunity for Belize to gain significant exposure in the international market”, comments Tourism Director, Tracy Taegar- Panton. “These trips, which are made possible through private sector support, enables journalists to write amazing stories, which will encourage readers to visit Belize,” Panton noted.
