hi..thanks everyone for your input on where to stay..
we want to stay north...question is..can you walk all the way to town if staying at Capricorn or sundiver? I'm learning that you can not drive there..but have to water taxi.

On our very first trip to AC a couple years ago we walked to Capricorn one afternoon. Very LONG walk. I wouldn't do it again. Although we do walk to the Palapa Bar every Sunday afternoon that we're in town, just to walk off some of the calories from the wonderful barbecue at BC's. We also walk five miles a day at home.

Depending on the time of year, you would be able to drive golf carts to Capricorn, I don't know about Sundiver. During the day, bicycles are a good option as well.

To town it's about 3 miles from Capricorn and 5 miles from Sundiver.

Palapa Bar is about 1.25 to 1.5 miles from town. Caye Villas are about 4.6 miles from town.

You can drive to Capricorn via gas golf cart but it may not be much fun depending on the road conditions. Sundiver is really pushing it to use a golf cart as your primary means of transportation, water taxi would be much faster and easier.

Rent Bikes and you will have the best of all worlds - Calm Caye Villa is super, and there are lots of places to eat within walking distance from it - Rojo, Mambo, Belizean Shores, Rendezvous and Sundiver is almost next door.
You can also hire a private chef (yum!) to do gourmet meals in your home (he washes dishes afterwards too).
The bike-ride from CCV to Palapa is about 15 minutes and is fun.

Just a suggestion to Marty -

How about converting Simon's distance information that he's posted, into a table on the website? Perhaps linked to the "lodging" page....

Simon - you're an incredible source of info!

Thank the Chamber of Commerce for the numbers. I've posted the entire spreadsheet at http://www.lagniappe-belize.com/acmileage.htm
