Hey everyone! laugh

Well, my cousins & I were planning on going to Cancun next month. The trip had been planned for over a year, & the Hurricaine detoured our plans. So far I'm thinking its for the best anyway.

So, we've decided to make Belize our newest vacation spot in replacement of Cancun. I'm very excited!

Quick question though...Are there places to swim in the ocean on AC? I've been reading conflicting things...some people say that you really can't swim on the beaches there? I heard there is too much sea grass?

I appreciate any advice you can give. I'm realizing that this vacation will be far from anything similar to Cancun, but I'm liking that its turning into
laugh

oops. wait I have another couple questions!

- Someone mentioned something about "shots" before going? Is this true? I'm guessing not...

- Do the hotels have normal american outlet plugs in them? Wondering so I can bring my camera charger...

Cancun doesn't even compare...shhh don't tell to many. AC/SP is 10X better, but it is different in that it is mostly diving and snorkeling.

No shots needed. I beleive that your charger should work just fine.

than you so much!

yeah, after reading about AC, I've decided that Cancun is just really a waste of money. I want to travel to as many exotic & abnormal places as I can. I don't want the tourist traps.

I'm thinking that we'll be seeing a lot of Cancun transplants this year. A whole new crop of people to fall in love with AC!

Just remember, this isn't Cancun, as aremgonz says "Cancun doesn't even compare"!

Its actual sort of perfect because I don't think I had realized before how much of the tourist/ party trap Cancun was. I'm now realizing its sort of the "Miami" of mexico and I didn't want that anyway!

Once you get there you will want to go back and back and back. We were there in August and I am going back in December. It just changes your whole perspective about traveling to the Carribean, Central America. After we got back in August I was worthless for a month or so just thinking about all the great people, diving and the whole atmosphere.

Wow...I absolutly CANNOT wait !

The bummer for me is that the day after I return, I have a College Math final. eek eek eek

Yeah, as I'm sure you can imagine, I am not looking forward to that.

But, I come to Belize with an open heart & an open mind, and hopefully I will come away with friends for life & I will be returning again & again like you.

kristykins, have you had your Hep A&B and tetanus shots? You'll be wanting those.

Okay, yeah I actually asked the "shots" question in another thread, & someone said don't worry about getting shots?

So I should get Hepatitis & tetanus shots?
