Where can you snorkel off the beach in Ambergris CAye? I thought you either had to take a snorkel boat out or kayak to the reef. It would be great to find a spot where the snorkeling is good right off the beach.

Some of the resorts have built mini aquariums under their docks by piling up old coral. Ramon's comes to mind as one.

There's alsosome very interesting snorkeling off Caribbean Villa's pier. Not nearly as crowded as Ramons.

KristyKins -

I returned last week from AC - 1st time I was there and am now battling the depression. You will love it - the people are nice, lots of good restaurants, wonderful snorkeling and diving.

If you're not afraid of heights, do the zip line tour. It's awesome!

I plan on returning next year - I fell in love with the place.

awww! that made me smile.

I fully anticipate to be coming home in the same state as you. I'm not looking forward to the "depression" though. especially when I'm coming home to college Finals. *sigh*

kristykins, as every one indicates it is always safe to get the necessary shots that you feel you need but, I went down there for 10 days and as stated before am going back in December and I'm not worried about shots. But, to each is own. I wouldn't worry about it to much.

Mmkay. I think I will opt out of the shots this time around & just hope all goes well. 4 weeks just isn't enough time to get any sort of vaccination for Hepatitis since its a series of 3 shots over 6 months. I will get my tetanus since I need it again but I'm sure I'll be fine laugh

Actually, what I read in the Hep A info. from my doctor said 4 weeks prior to traveling is best, then a follow up immunization in 6 months, for lasting protection. The Hep B is the one that is a series of three shots over 6 months, which we opted not to do. Thanks, SimonB for your input....we will pass on the malaria immunization as we will not be in the remote jungle areas in the evening.
