Just got off the phone (it is now about 2:45pm EST on August 20) with Bruce Landenberger, owner of Villas La Guacamaya about 5-miles north of Xcalak, Q. Roo. He reported rain and winds of about 30 mph with an ocean surge of about 2-3 feet above normal. He said "This is a tropical storm, not a hurricane." I hope he is right. Bruce said most of the people from the town have been evacuated to Chetumal but he planned on riding it out (as he did with Keith.)
