Can anyone tell me what the beach is like at Belizean Shores? Good for swimming? Lots of room for laying out?
And what is the mosquito situation in early January?

Has a very nice beach with a swimming area at the end of the dock. The seabreezes will keep any mozzies away and, unless there have been frequent rains, they won't be a problem at that time.

mookie, don't know how familiar you are with AC in general. I loved B.S. Belizean Shores is a great property, but don't expect a great expanse of beach that is good for laying out. It's very good by AC standards, but you don't do AC for the swimming and laying-out type beaches. I'd call it a fantastic walking beach.

One should note they have a fantastic pool, including swim up bar and such.
