do keep half an eye on that spot off to the east and south of the island though, might only see it on the GEOS... just popped a hot bubble of rain out the last 3-4 reporting periods, for those who figured out the animations.

Showing this thing so far across the Yucatan is wrong...we all know where it is!

Hopefully it's trailing-edge swirls, with an uncommon tendency to
try to take over.

Could you give us another update on what's happening with Chantal? I've been watching GOES 8 and the storm appears to be moving north/northeast with a 'plume' out to the NE. I flunked meteorology so can only guess what's next....

looks like its seeping out into the gulf, but it ain't going easy.

i think we're just looking at more rain, but until it clears out, can't be sure. winds are down, pressure is up, all good signs.

sure did hit a wall coming out the yucatan though. might bend it down so that it doesn't even go into the gulf but stays over mexico

and then that little cell sitting off the coast bears a half eye watching also
