Has anyone heard about a new department store (like Mirabs) opening in the location of the old hardware store across from the airport in San Pedro? Fact or fiction?

I heard the casino did not get approval and that it will be a department store.

Looked in the doors today and it does look like some retail racking is in place. They were advertising earlier in the year for 200 positions to be filled for a casino, not sure what happened there. That was long after construction started so if things have changed I'm suprised. Wrong time of year to open a department store, it should have been open by now not in January.

The false windows placed on top would tend to convince the idea of a dept. store. Would be nice if the prices are reasonable as we know they won't be cheap.

where do most of you do your shoping at?

Do you know if Royal Caribbean got a casino permit? We had heard they did not because they were given one at the old Harmouche. Wonder if the status has changed.
